"It was the Sky Khans, envious of Fire's domain in Khuza's Barrens, who struck first. As Fire and Wind clashed at the border between their realms, the Sky Khans plunged great pillars from the skies into the mountains, and the Flame Khans set ablaze the grass in wild embers. Their ensuing battle divided the elements and set the land into turmoil, until Eso, Nua of both Sky and Fire, descended from his Spectral Throne, and punished his unruly children, by ensuring that at the final strike the Winds of Time would loop around, so that none could ever claim victory. And so in their wrath the Sky consumed the Flame, and the Flame engulfed the Sky; eternally cursed to repeat their last mistakes again and again."
