For the new year, I decided to try out an idea I had, where I would draw a base map and then slowly update it daily, to see the growth and change of an aspiring settlement.
However, just drawing and redrawing features on the map daily didn't seem all that interesting to me at the baseline, and so I instead spent a week developing a decently-working Settlement-building "tabletop" game. Now it's more of a survival city-builder type game, where the goal is to see how long I can keep the settlement alive.
I won't be revealing in full detail all the rules, features, and mechanics, as I'm treating the whole thing as an experiment, and as such I'm also doing testing and balancing at the same time in the background.

This is "Week 3" of the project.
For Week 3, I've implemented a Threat and Issues/Benefit System, which means the settlement will start getting attacked every now and then from an incremental chance system, and also every week there will be a set of randomzied minor problems and opportunities for the Wheel Council to solve, TTRPG style.
In the case of the Threat System, there is also a Combat System implemented, though at the moment it's very barebones and needs more work before I can implement it fully, but it should be ready for the first battle.
